National Nutrition Month! A health tip from Nurse Kay--Depending on your age, weight, and activity level, you should be eating about 1 1/2 to 2 cups of fruit every day. Take time during National Nutrition Month to evaluate the fruit you eat and if you are lagging behind, go to www.eatright.org for more healthy eating information. Immunization Clinic and 2010-2011 Physicals! The Mid-Nebraska Community Action Partnership has set July 21, 2010 as the date for offering school physicals for kindergarteners and 7th graders, as well as athletic physicals. They will also be providing immunizations. The cost will be $15/child for physicals and a $10 donation is requested for immunizations, however, no one will be turned away if unable to pay. They will be taking appointments from 9:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. The Gibbon clinic is located at 814 1st Avenue, which is next to the Post Office.ACE Award Winners--February 19! Each
week three students are selected by faculty members for the ACE Award. ACE
stands for Achievement, Citizenship, and Effort. The award winners are
then taken off campus for lunch by the principal, Mr. Dumas.
Congratulations to this week's student winners: Matt Baker, Morgan Kroll, and Josh Reinertson. Thank you for being good role models. ECRI Reading Program! Direct
instruction methods and strategies are used to teach reading to
students in grades 1-6 at Gibbon Elementary. Gering Public Schools have
been very successful with their direct instruction reading program they
